Food from the heart

For the lady who has cooked for you countless times, it’s always nice to turn the tables and treat her to some excellent dining. Here at The Feathers Hotel, we're cooking up a feast for Mother's Day Lunch in Ledbury. A special one off menu to celebrate the occasion will feature the best of Herefordshire produce in three courses, with plenty of delicious seasonal surprises. Do book early to avoid disappointment! See Mother's Day Menu & details.

If you cannot make Mothering Sunday, however, you could also gift her with a relaxing experience to take at her leisure with one of our Champagne Afternoon Teas. You can simply give us a call to book (01531 635266), or surprise mum with a gift voucher.

Make it classical

Is your mum a fan of classical music? If that’s a yes, there are two performances to pick from this Mothers Day if you fancy some live entertainment. Hellen’s Manor are hosting a special afternoon Mozart Concert with the Bochmanm String Trio. Of if you would prefer a refreshingly mixed line up of popular and classical songs with the best of Herefordshire’s young musicians, there is a special Severn Arts concert to be held at Malvern Forum Theatre. Make it a day out less ordinary

With a little luck, a dry and sunny Mothering Sunday could be the perfect opportunity to get out and discover some glorious countryside and local heritage. There are some cracking walks and lofty views in the Malvern Hills. Or if mother is more interested in a spot of history and culture, how about a trip to one of our glorious outdoor attractions and National Trust properties? Berrington Hall has a lovely walled garden and some unusual art treasures to enjoy. Or for a truly grand location, you could head to Eastnor Castle.

Crafting, making and tasting sessions for mother

For any mum with a creative or culinary streak, another great Mother’s Day present is a place on a special workshop or hands-on one day course to learn a new skill. Herefordshire is a fantastic region for these kinds of experiences, with many companies offering gift vouchers as well as expert tuition. Mum could learn the art of perfect picture framing, have a brush with a watercolour painting course, try a spot of pottery or refine her palate with a wine tasting course
